as we drove to and from philly last night for a great show at the M-room (thanks tom!) we discussed a few of b+p’s favorite things:
- last.fm — find your new favorite band here.
- protools — every band member now has their own protools (except for andrew, who is still programming his vcr remote), and we plan to use this asset to thoroughly destroy our music. but it is a superfun way of ruining your music.
- drum machines - including the emu mp7 and the roland tr-505 and tr-606. this is part of my secret plot to replace pete with a pleasant drum robot named pete 11011. instruction manuals included in polish and english
pete will be driving us to philadelphia this weekend. we’re very excited to be hitting the M-room this sunday night. it’s a sunday before a holiday so it’s just as fun as a saturday night, right?!

a few things.
we’ve added a show to the calendar — will be making a return trip to philly this month; the kind folks from bag of songs have invited to come play at the M room during MLK weekend. hope to see you there!

wanted to thank Allan from allan’s world blog for including uncalibrated in his top songs of 2008, and listed us as one of his top unknown artists of the year. i’m a total loser b/c allan sent us an interview that i wrote half of and then lost and eventually lost track of. so sorry allan and thanks for the kind words! (you have excellent taste btw!)
holidays = itunes gift cards which leads nostalgic purchases of music from yesteryear (i.e. the 1990s). one forgotten band that my holiday purchases led to was eggs, a mid-90s teenbeat band that put out a pretty great record called exploder.
Why Am I So Tired All the Time? - Eggs

listening to eggs revealed a mostly forgotten cover of one of the best indie rock songs of the 90s, another (in my opinion) forgotten classic, ‘words’ by low.
